Peter and the FALKEN BMW M6 GT3 crew finished in 8th place at the ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24-hour race (May 27-28). Despite a disappointing qualifying session (they started 37th) and with only a couple of issues during the race, the car was the third-placed BMW and engaged in close battles for position right until the chequered flag. The race was dry and warm until four laps from the end when rain started to fall and many positions in the top 10 changed hands in the closing minutes.
This was Peter’s 10th “N24” with FALKEN and his 14th overall, coming just two weeks after Peter set the production car lap record of the Ring. This year, Peter switched from the FALKEN Porsche 911 GT3 R to the team's brand new BMW M6 GT3 and was joined by team mates Alexandre Imperatori, Marco Seefried and Stef Dusseldorp. Watch out for Peter and FALKEN as they continue racing in selected VLN races in the rest of the year.
In the build up to the race, FALKEN made much of the competition between its Porsche and BMW. In the early hours of the race, the Porsche was unfortunately irreparably damaged in a collision with another car, effectively handing the Team FALKEN victory to Peter and the BMW crew. Here are some funny videos of the pre-race competitions between Peter and Raggi (Porsche driver, Martin Ragginger).
